01About these terms
These terms apply when you create an account on this website or book tickets or workshop places for an event presented by Absurd Dreams ("we", "us"), including Dreamgirl by Karen Houge and the Freedom on Stage workshop. By making a booking you agree to them, so please read them first.
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle your information.
02Your account
- You may need an account to book. Please give your real name and a mobile number we can reach you on.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for bookings made from your account.
- If you sign in with Google, Google's own terms also apply to that sign-in.
- We may suspend an account that is used for fraud, abuse or to hold seats without paying.
03Booking and seat holds
- When you reserve, your seats (or places) are held for a limited time, shown at checkout (normally 30 minutes), while you make the bank transfer and upload your receipt.
- If we do not receive a receipt within that time, the hold ends and the seats are released to other customers.
- You can book up to 10 seats per booking and hold up to 2 unpaid bookings at a time.
- The view ratings and seat views on the site are guides. They are illustrations, not exact sightlines.
04Prices and payment
- Prices are in Sri Lankan rupees (LKR) and are shown before you reserve. Prices differ by seating zone and performance.
- Payment is by bank transfer only, to the account shown on the payment page. Please use your booking reference as the transfer remark and pay the exact amount. Any bank charges are yours.
- Upload a photo or PDF of your transfer receipt. We check it against our bank account and confirm the booking. Your booking is only confirmed once we have verified the payment and marked it confirmed.
- If we cannot match a payment, we may ask for a clearer receipt, or decline the booking and refund any amount we did receive.
05Tickets and entry
- Once confirmed, your e-ticket with a QR code is available under My bookings. Show it on your phone or printed at the door.
- Each ticket admits one person, once. Copies of the same ticket will only be admitted once.
- Tickets must not be resold for profit. We may cancel tickets that are resold or obtained in breach of these terms.
- Student matinee: tickets are for students only. Please bring a valid student ID, or you may be refused entry.
06Workshop places
- The Freedom on Stage workshop has limited places and runs over three days. The fee, dates and times are shown on the site.
- The workshop involves movement and physical play. Please tell us in advance about any health condition or access need so we can support you, and take part within your own limits.
07If we change or cancel an event
- If we cancel an event, you will get a full refund of the ticket price to a bank account you tell us.
- If we move it to a new date or venue, your ticket stays valid. If you cannot make the new date, tell us within 7 days of the announcement and we will refund you.
- Small changes to running order, running time or seating layout do not entitle you to a refund.
- We will contact you using the details on your booking, so please keep them up to date.
08Refunds and exchanges
Confirmed tickets cannot be refunded, except as described above or where the law requires. If you cannot attend, contact us and we will try to help, for example by changing the name on the booking, subject to availability.
09At the venue
- Please arrive early. Latecomers may have to wait for a suitable moment to be seated, and may not get their booked seats.
- Recording, photography and filming during the performance are not allowed.
- Follow the venue's rules and staff instructions. We or the venue may refuse entry or ask you to leave for safety reasons or disruptive behaviour, without a refund.
10Our responsibility to you
We take reasonable care in running our events and this website. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for indirect losses, or for costs such as travel or accommodation if an event is changed or cancelled. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
11Changes to these terms and governing law
We may update these terms. The version shown when you book applies to that booking. These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction.
